Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: Cause for consideration. I would never advised anyone to not vaccinate as this is a very personal decision however; I strongly encourage true “informed consent” because most of society is unaware of vaccine reactions, what they’re made of or their efficacy.

Make a decision, but do your homework. We hope that no one ever learns of the possible consequences the hard way……

Conclusion: These results are consistent with the hypothesis that smoking causes long-term cognitive decline and loss of gray matter tissue in the brain, over time

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: We have know that smoking decreases blood oxygen levels and the good news is that the brain is resilient and yes, can heal over time.

Study Links Low Fluoride to Higher IQ

"About 28 percent of the children in the low-fluoride area scored as bright, normal or higher intelligence compared to only 8 percent in the ‘high’ fluoride area … in the high-fluoride city, 15 percent had scores indicating mental retardation and only 6 percent in the low-fluoride city."

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: Anything that affects children is always a very difficult area to broach however, it must be done. Many municipalities have already made changes to their fluoridation policies. A dear friend of mine in Florida who specializes in children and children’s brain function, fought for years to have fluoride removed from the city water supply but made no progress regardless of the voluminous reports and studies she provided them.

Good news, she finally won. Most of you don’t realize that fluoride is a controlled substance and requires a physicians prescription. Well guess what, there is no physician prescribing fluoride for you city’s water supply. Well, needless to say, the city had to stop practicing medicine without a license or face legal action.

Great job Dr. Julie. Keep up the god fight.

Functional Disconnect Found in Autism

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: As mentioned in several other postings, most of these disorders (ADD/ADHD, Autism, etc) are functional problems and not pathological therefore: most all are treatable based on a functional neurology model and not a pharmaceutical model.

Dr. Robert Melillo is one of the premier authorities on these issues. He has also published a great book titled, “Disconnected Kids.” This book is written with the parent in mind. It explains these “disconnects” and proves suggestions for both evaluating and treating these conditions however: as Dr. Melillo states, never make the diagnosis yourself. Seek the opinion of someone trained in Functional Neurology, i.e. Chiropractic Neurologist. You can go to www.acnb.org and then click on the Physician Locator found in the left column. Follow the instructions from there.

Hand Movements May Be An Early Indicator of ADHD

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: Most conditions that have been dumped into the label of ADD and/or ADHD are actually better described as functional disorders. These disorders are 100% treatable when the person is evaluated as a whole i.e. neurologically, nutritionally…

This is another perfect example of where Chiropractic Neurology and Functional Neurology are key.
