Pulses of Light Spark Muscle Movement

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: Well, I have explained to many, many a patient that when our cells produce energy (ATP) there is light. Depending upon the research, that light should be in the range of 630 nm to 640 nm. Nerve transmission is biochemical and electrical therefore it should not surprise us that light, that in fired in the proper wavelength would result in activity.

I am happy to see that more research is being done and that some progress in being made.

Try Spaghetti Squash Instead of Pasta

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: This fall/winter try using spaghetti squash instead of noodles. With only 10 grams of carbs per cup vs. an average of 46 grams in noodles its a wise low carb option. As a bonus spaghetti squash contains essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals!

Avandia Finally Pulled

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: A September 23, 2010 article in the New England Journal of Medicine announced that, finally, the FDA has stepped forward and decided on regulatory action for Avandia, a diabetes drug that last year claimed 1,354 lives as a result of cardiac-associated problems.

Has anyone thought about correcting the patient’s physiology instead of simply putting them on drugs??? Diabetes and HTN are the 2 most common diseases and the 2 most easiest to prevent and treat. Click here to learn how

Mercury Fillings, 150 Years Out Of Date

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: There is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence as to the dangers of mercury fillings however: I must urge caution!!! The proper removal and disposal of mercury fillings is best performed by dentists who are specially trained as Biological Dentists. You can find one by clicking here: http://mercuryfreedentists.com/

Melatonin Lowers PSA

Research has revealed that elevate prostate levels (elevated PSA) decrease significantly with the use of melatonin.

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: I have seen this in my patients time and time again. It is a very safe supplement with few side effects. Most of these side effects can be avoided with either proper dosage and the use of a very good quality product.

Our office performs saliva hormone testing and works hand in hand with Dr. Gerken of Dr. Gerken’s Health Spa. If you are in need of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), our testing aides in determining compounding that is specific to you and your needs.

FYI: Did you know that Melatonin can help with sleeping, lower blood sugar and hypertension?

Makers of Botox Guilty of Fraud

Dr. Petryk’s Thoughts: Allergan Inc., the maker of Botox, was found guilt of fraud by marketing Botox’s “off label” use. Off label is a term used to describe when a medication is prescribed for something other than it’s intended use. For example, Lyrica was originally “labeled” for depression however, it was found to have an affect on patients suffering from Fibromyalgia and many physicians began to prescribe it for it’s “off label” use in Fibromyalgia.

BUYER BEWARE!!! There is a reason that the FDA approval process is the way it is and renegade’s have no place. Medications are dangerous enough when prescribed properly and for their intended use
